Marketing

One of AMC Institute's two primary strategies for the next three years is to "expand favorable awareness and the marketing opportunities for AMC Institute members." To this end, AMC Institute has three primary methods of achieving this goal:
  1. AMC Industry Marketing

Since its founding the AMC Institute has always placed a priority on marketing the AMC concept and creating favorable awareness of AMCs. In addition to constant communication to the media, we write articles featuring AMC Institute leaders, develop news releases centered on the impact of the AMC industry, create and place print advertising and provide an industry website with relevant and up-to-date web content.

In the process, AMC Institute has increased awareness among a host of audiences with recognition and media coverage in national, regional and local media — business press as well as trade publications.

  2. Marketing Tools and Resources for Members

As a member, you will have access to Marketing Tools and Resources such as:

    • Presentations (such as How To Market Your AMC)
    • Camera-ready print advertisements and brochures for your use in local efforts
    • Electronic newsletter for new business purposes – Building Better Associations
    • Local media list assistance and help on how to work with the media
    • Supplies of selected printed materials
    • Library of current and archived reports (including annual and monthly reports)
    • Published articles about the AMC industry that will add credibility and overall enhance your business development initiatives.

  3. Industry Partnerships

AMC Institute has extensive knowledge and experience with the association management company model as a solution to efficient full-service association management and outsourced association services. AMC Institute needs to reach out to a variety of publics to promote awareness of AMC Institute as a resource and to favorably influence the thinking of other organizations and individuals who impact the AMC marketplace.

Year One: Awareness — Identify targets, develop segmented messages, make initial contacts, and find ways to deliver those messages.

Year Two: Infiltrate — Become involved with these targets as program speakers, committee participants, and by exhibiting at expositions.

Year Three: Influence — Establish the IAAMC within the policy making structure of these targets.

To work toward the goals established, AMC Institute is now involved in the following organizations:

CIC (Convention Industry Council) — AMC Institute is now one of 32 member organizations representing more than 103,500 individuals, as well as 17,300 firms and properties involved in the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industries. Formed in 1949 to provide a forum for member organizations seeking to enhance the industry, the CIC facilitates the exchange of information and develops programs to promote professionalism with the industry and educates the public on its profound economic impact.

ASAE Key Committee — AMC Institute's president and staff have a permanent seat on the newly formed ASAE Key Committee. The Key Committee helps increase the visibility of the AMC industry within ASAE and place AMCs on equal footing with influential trade, professional, and philanthropic organizations.

IMEX — is the essential worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. With over 3,300 exhibitors representing 150 countries, IMEX attracts more than 7,600 trade visitors including 3,500 hosted buyers. IMEX is the meeting place for the global meetings industry. AMC Institute will host a complimentary stand at the IMEX Association Day program to be held in Frankfurt Germany. In addition, members of the International Task Force will help facilitate AMC discussions during the Association Day program.
