Avoiding Pitfalls with Association Management Search Consultants; AMC Institute Publishes Best Practice Guidelines
Alexandria, VA (April 14, 2015) – Each year, dozens of associations select association management companies (AMCs) to provide staff and headquarters solutions. Now, the AMC Institute has released guidelines to help associations and the consultants who specialize in supporting management searches achieve the best outcomes for the association client.
Guidance for Consultants Seeking AMC Management for Association Clients provides best practices and key insights to help associations select a management company with the capabilities and culture that match the association’s needs.
“AMCs, and the consultants who serve the association community, have long been great partners in helping associations advance their missions and create value for members,” AMC Institute Board Chair Charles Hall said. “These guidelines will help consultants ask the right questions and understand the best ways to work with AMCs in a management search. Our goal is to help consultants achieve the best outcomes for their clients, and to help associations form successful, long-term partnerships with their management firms.”
The guidelines were developed by a collaborative team of consultants and association management companies, responding to a growing interest in AMCs by associations, and the increasing specialization and sophistication of management firms.
The guidelines can be accessed on the AMC Institute website HERE.
