ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA/TORONTO, ONTARIO– The AMC Institute (AMCI) has officially announced the launch of AMCI Canada, its first chapter, which will serve to further the international presence of the Association Management Company (AMC) sector and expand AMCI’s ability to advance professionalism and high performance standards throughout the world.
AMCI Board Chair Greg Schultz notes “With the growth we are experiencing in several countries, we recognized that establishing a dynamic presence in key markets would strengthen our industry. It would also provide greater access to practices, strategies, and tools that will help individual AMCs provide best-in-class services to their association clients. Our colleagues in Canada have already laid considerable groundwork in delivering on that mission, so it was an ideal place to start as we continue to build our global community.”
Several prominent Canadian AMCs began a joint effort two years ago, creating standards for AMCs in Canada, a professional development track at the Canadian Society of Association Executives annual conference, and a collaborative exchange with AMCI.
According to the new chapter President, Serge Micheli, “We believe that there is tremendous opportunity for AMCI in Canada and that together we can continue to grow membership in this market. Our chapter will serve as an important local voice to share best practices, improve industry standards, access professional development, and to enhance our industry’s profile in Canada.”
