CM Services, Inc. Expands Partnership Services to Three New Associations

Glen Ellyn, IL – On December 1, two association industry leaders formalized a new working relationship as CM Services, Inc., the Association Partnership Company®, announced it has entered into new association partnership agreements with the National Association of Architectural Metal Manufacturers (NAAMM), the Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Association (PVMA), and the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association (SSMA).

At the same time, August L. Sisco joined CM Services to continue serving as Executive Vice President of NAAMM, and Executive Director of PVMA and SSMA. Sisco is the former vice president of the Trade Division of GSS, Inc., where he served in the same executive capacity with each association.

Shared Partnership Philosophy
CM Services is the Association Partnership Company because partnership is the company's business philosophy. "We believe that by investing ourselves in the industries we represent, we can help them achieve their goals," said Rick Church, CM Services' Head Coach. The company defines Association Partnership as "focused, long-term cooperation between our company and the associations we serve to achieve complementary goals." He points out the Partnership philosophy is inherent in all that CM Services does as a company, "how we treat our employees, how we work with our vendors, and how we serve our association partners."

Long-term relationships are exactly what CM Services has achieved. The company looks forward to celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2007, making it something of a rarity in the industry. Church points out that of 530 association management companies in the country, only 25% were in business before 1980. With a staff of 22 employee partners, CM Services is well above the industry average of 7 employees.

In welcoming Sisco to CM Services, Church said, "Augie's values and approach to association management are a perfect match with ours." Sisco explained, "Association management is successful when the association itself succeeds. That requires a true investment of interest and energy on the part of the association staff, learning about the long-term challenges of the association as well as meeting its daily management needs. CM Services not only understands this role, but also seeks new ways to live up to it."

The new partnership agreements offer NAAMM, PVMA and SSMA the considerable benefits of CM Services' long list of Targeted Partnership Services® to encourage and support their growth, including meeting planning, financial management, database management, electronic communications, strategic planning, and more. For CM Services, partnering with NAAMM, PVMA and SSMA represents growth that fits well with its established association partnerships.

A Record of Association Industry Leadership
Both Church and Sisco are well-known in association leadership circles and active in the association management industry. Sisco is a past president of the International Association of Association Management Companies (IAAMC), now the AMC Institute. Church served in the same capacity in 2005.

In addition to his term as IAAMC president, Church served on the first AMC Section Council, 1993-2000, and as chairman or member of many committees. He is also a board member of Coverings, the largest international trade show in North America for ceramic tile and stone related products. He serves in executive positions with three of CM Services' association partners. Church was recently named by Association Trends as one of six 2006 Young & Aspiring Association Professionals.

Sisco has more than 30 years of association management experience with both professional societies and trade associations, including nine years as owner and president of Humes & Associates, a Chicago-based association management company serving over 20 associations with a staff of 25. Since selling the company in 1994, Sisco has focused on management of national manufacturing trade associations.

Church welcomed NAAMM, PVMA and SSMA to CM Services' family of eleven other trade association partners: American Fence Association, American Fence Association Education Foundation, Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council, Bearing Specialists Association, Ceramic Tile Distributors Association, Composite Fence and Deck Association, National Church Goods Association, Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association, Plastic Piping Educational Foundation, Thermoset Resin Formulators Association and Vinyl Fence, Deck & Railing Manufacturers Association.
