Howard Fisher Joins SmithBucklin as Executive Director of InSight

CHICAGO - Nov. 17, 2006 – SmithBucklin, the world's largest association management company, announced today that Howard Fisher has joined the company as an Association Executive serving as Executive Director of InSight, the user group representing customers of McKesson Healthcare information technology solutions. In his new role, Fisher works out of SmithBucklin's Chicago office to manage all aspects of InSight's operations, leads the SmithBucklin team and assumes responsibility for meeting the strategic goals set by InSight's leadership.

Fisher's primary objectives with InSight are to grow the organization by offering additional member benefits, and to create new revenue sources by providing year-long education forums.

InSight volunteer leaders continuously work with McKesson leadership on issues of cost control, patient safety, and privacy within the health care community. Founded in 1998 with a history of user collaboration dating back to 1984, InSight also provides members the opportunity to become involved in education sessions at their annual conference, share best practices through discussion forums, and contribute to the Strategic Change Model, a process to foster McKesson product enhancements.

"Howard brings significant business leadership skills to SmithBucklin. This, combined with his experience in the technology services industry, made him an ideal fit for InSight," said SmithBucklin President and COO Julie Silverstein.

Prior to joining SmithBucklin, Fisher spent seven years with LexisNexis where he contributed to the growth of the organization in positions ranging from account management to regional sales manager. Some of Fisher's accomplishments there included leading client teams to deliver consistent revenue growth, creating and implementing business-development initiatives, designing and rolling out new products and solutions, and growing client relationships. While with LexisNexis, Fisher received several recognitions for his work, including the Circle of Excellence and the LexisNexis Midwest Region Account Manager of the Year awards.

Fisher holds a Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from the University of Iowa. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and volunteers his time to several charities, including Children's Memorial Hospital and the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
