The Center for Association Growth Announces Management Buy-In

Glenview, Ill. (September 6, 2006) The Center for Association Growth (TCAG), a leading association management company led by 40-year industry veteran Carl A. Wangman, CAE, is pleased to announce its next generation of senior leadership. Effective immediately, Brett Wangman joins TCAG as president and Marcie McGlynn adds the role of executive vice president to her current position as chief operating officer. Carl Wangman retains his title of chairman and chief executive officer and will continue to play an active role in all client affairs for the next several years.

Commenting on the management buy-in, Carl Wangman said; "The world of AMCs (Association Management Companies) is quickly changing and TCAG plans to stay ahead of the curve. Today, the growth of associations lies in the deployment of new technologies, the use of integrated marketing and sales approaches and the continuous development of the association's value proposition. Yet, it also continues to require an intense dedication to personal service and responsiveness. In this environment, I can not imagine a better team to lead TCAG forward than Brett and Marcie. Together, they will continue the tradition of professionalism and dedication to meeting the missions of our clients that has been the calling card of TCAG since its inception."

Brett Wangman joins TCAG after spending more than a year of providing strategic marketing, technology and sales consulting services to several of TCAG's existing clients. Regarding his participation in the new management team, Brett Wangman commented; "Basically, I have spent my entire professional career preparing for this position, especially my deep understanding of the technologies and best practices required to build vibrant, virtual communities. What's more, my corporate and software start-up experiences have taught me valuable lessons as to how best to market and sell in a predominantly online world. But most importantly, through the last year, I have witnessed the tremendous talent we have at TCAG and got to work closely with our progressive clients who are continuously looking to TCAG for leadership, new ideas, and flawless execution. This is truly an exciting time to lead a new breed of AMC."

Marcie McGlynn, one of the first employees of TCAG, complements Brett's expertise with a proven track record of association management company achievements. As chief operating officer for more than 10 years, Marcie has been instrumental in increasing TCAG's operational efficiency, employee effectiveness, and long-term client satisfaction. Under Marcie's leadership, TCAG has developed a sophisticated management platform and instilled a consistent set of best practices across a diverse set of client associations. The first to arrive and last to leave, Marcie consistently demonstrates an overwhelming drive to exceed client expectations.

Brett comes to TCAG with more than 18 years of professional experience with a range of responsibilities that include integrated marketing, marketing communications, software project management, and sales management. Brett is the founder of WIMMco, an integrated marketing campaign management provider. Brett was the vice president of marketing for Chicago-based Participate.com and played an instrumental role in the sale of this innovative online community management software provider to OutStart Inc. in 2004. Brett was also the director of marketing for Neodesic, another Chicago-based internet start-up that was acquired by Participate.com in 2001. Early in his career, Brett spent five years as the corporate advertising manager for Andrew Corporation, a multi-billion dollar manufacturer of wireless communications equipment. Brett has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan and a master of science's degree in organizational communications from Northwestern University.

Marcie McGlynn has worked full time in association management since 1988, but has grown up working in a family owned association management company. She is an honors graduate of Colorado College having earned a bachelors degree in political science and history. After graduation, Marcie spent three years working in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill as a research consultant to congressional campaigns. Marcie returned to Chicago to work as director of meetings and expositions for two medical associations. Marcie has a well rounded background in association management with particular expertise in meeting planning, membership and marketing.
