|Singler Earns Association Executive Certification|
Date: July 12, 2012 From: AMR Management Services
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 12, 2012) - AMR Management Services is proud to announce Laura Singler has earned her designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
The foremost certification of the association management industry, the CAE program recognizes individuals who have achieved the industry's highest standard of professionalism. Established in 1960, the CAE was designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of association management.
"I am very proud of the expert staff we have here at AMR," said John Ruffin, AMR President and CEO. "Laura's commitment to the industry in earning this key certification is what sets AMR apart."
Fewer than 5 percent of all association professionals achieve the CAE designation. Singler joins 98 others who obtained the certification this summer and approximately 3,900 other association professionals worldwide who have been certified in the credential's 50-year history.
"Congratulations to all the new CAEs who have achieved the highest professional credential in the association industry," said Sal Martino, CAE, chair of the CAE Commission. "The CAE certification takes commitment and demands visionary thinking, and it will serve as a symbol of leadership and accomplishment. It will help you succeed in your career and give you the knowledge and skills to enhance your association."
To earn the CAE credential, candidates must first submit an application satisfying professional experience and education requirements. Successful applicants must next pass a challenging examination on all aspects of association management. Candidates undertake rigorous study sessions in preparation for the exam, and only those who are able to achieve the passing score earn the CAE credential. Once earned, the certification must be renewed every three years through additional studies and leadership activities.
"The journey to the exam itself has helped to expand and broaden my knowledge of association management," Singler said. "It will allow me to be more agile when faced with new and different scenarios with the clients I serve."
Singler started with AMR in 2006 and currently serves as the account executive for three of AMR's client partners, the Chief Officers of State Library Agencies, Inc. (COSLA), the Bluegrass Hospitality Association (BHA) and the Nursing Organizations Alliance (The Alliance).
Laura began her career in the nonprofit sector as a community director with the March of Dimes. Prior to her work with the March of Dimes, she worked in the public relations department at the University of Kentucky main campus and Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2004 with a degree in Integrated Strategic Communication.
For Singler, the CAE designation shows her dedication to her career, clients and the association industry.
"I decided to seek my CAE credential to further advance my knowledge and performance in the profession and to demonstrate my commitment and affinity for the association industry," she said.
She will be honored along with other newly minted CAEs during ASAE's 2012 Annual Meeting & Exposition, in Dallas, Aug. 11-14.
