AMCI Certificate Program Aims to Elevate Proficiencies of AMC Professionals

As announced recently, the AMC Institute has recently launched the first certificate program to elevate the proficiencies of AMC professionals in a multi-client environment. It’s an exciting and long overdue effort on the part of a small group of dedicated volunteers serving on the AMCI Professional Advancement Committee working alongside the AMC staff to address the educational needs of AMC employees.

AMCI heard from members that there is a need for a professional advancement framework that emphasizes the unique balance that AMC leaders have to advance the missions of client organizations and be engaged in the success of their business.

The AMCI Professional Development Committee was then tasked with addressing this need. The result is a three-level program, a certificate program for early-career AMC leaders, a badging system for recognizing experienced client leaders in areas like membership, meetings, and credentialing, and we envision a third level curriculum that helps develop senior-leader capacity.

This initial effort, the Professional Advancement Certificate Courses, are focused on the needs of those new to the AMC environment, and are divided up into five topic area:

  • Communication Skills in the AMC Environment
  • Ethics in the AMC Environment
  • EQ Excellence in the AMC Environment
  • Leadership in the AMC Environment
  • Technology in the AMC Environment

Finding that effective balance between delivering tangible value for clients and your AMC requires a unique set of skills and knowledge and this certificate program provides specialized foundational-level education in key functional areas to help rising AMC professionals looking to sharpen their skills and advance their careers.

From an AMC perspective, having your staff participate in taking the Certificates will help you build equity in your professional brand while increasing your staff’s expertise and value to your clients. During these challenging times for attracting and retaining top talent, having your staff take the Certificate courses demonstrates your commitment to invest in your talent. It’s also an excellent way to help ambitious team members accelerate their career path within your AMC. Finally, the Certificate courses are a sure-fire way to positively impact the future or our profession.
Business owners needed a plug and play solution they can rely on. This program will grow into a key value proposition for members who are serious about talent development.

The Professional Advancement Committee is busily engaged with Phase 2 of this program, the development of 6 badges geared toward specific operational topics every AMC team member encounters on a daily basis.
