The AMCI Annual Meeting: Our ‘Go-To Source’ for Ideas and Advice

We have a saying at MCI: “When people come together, magic happens.” That’s why we’re strong supporters of the AMC Institute and especially AMCI’s Annual Meeting, which will be held January 25-27 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

The AMCI Annual Meeting brings together more than 200 leaders in association management for three days of learning, connecting, and envisioning. It’s where established and up-and-coming MCI managers and executives go to stretch our minds, grow our networks, and see new possibilities. It’s our go-to source for the best ideas and advice in association management.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of AMCI, and what better place to celebrate a birthday than in Orlando, home of the “Magic Kingdom.” The Annual Meeting is always a celebration of sorts, not only of the best in association management but also the best in association partnership. That’s another reason MCI attends the Annual Meeting—to connect with vendors who supply services and products to AMCI member decision makers.

The 2023 Annual Meeting will be among the most important we’ve ever attended. Many associations struggled to weather the COVID-19 pandemic, and several of those that did are now being challenged to recruit and retain skilled workers and amplify the voices and abilities of employees from historically marginalized populations. The AMCI Annual Meeting is addressing those challenges head-on through two keynote presentations, “Building An Effective Talent Strategy” by Alex Chausovsky and “More Than Words: Developing a 360° Approach to Reap the Untapped Rewards of Diversity” by Bernadette Smith.

The third keynote, “Mind Your Business” by David Meade, will encourage attendees to think critically about the obstacles and opportunities facing our industry. One such obstacle/opportunity is corporate social responsibility (CRS). MCI has a strong focus on CSR, and we are looking forward to sharing our ideas and experiences in this area during a CSR event being hosted by AMCI’s Provider Partner Committee.

The Annual Meeting will also feature eight concurrent education sessions, three HIIT (high-intensity interval training) sessions, and post-keynote discussions. By attending these events, you can earn as many as 10.75 CEUs toward your CAE.

The AMCI Annual Meeting is the essential meeting for today’s (and tomorrow’s) association management leaders to attend. It’s an investment in the success of your association(s) and your career. I’ll be there—will you?
