Architects of What’s Next: Why You Should Be at Engaged 2026 in Milwaukee

From July 27-29, the AMC community will gather in Milwaukee for one of the most anticipated events of the year—AMCI’s Engaged Meeting. More than a conference, Engaged has become the place where ideas are tested, relationships are strengthened, and the future of the association management industry takes shape.

This year’s theme, “Architects of What’s Next,” invites attendees to look beyond the immediate and think strategically about the evolving landscape of association management. Whether you are an experienced AMC leader, a new owner, or an emerging professional, Engaged offers the opportunity to help design what comes next—for your organization and for the industry as a whole.

A Meeting Built on AMCI’s Strategic Priorities

Engaged is not just aligned with AMCI’s strategic plan, it actively advances it. Within the Community Engagement & Development domain, Engaged serves as a cornerstone initiative that strengthens connections across the AMC community while delivering meaningful professional growth.

The meeting’s impact can be seen in several key ways:

  • Elevating Meeting Content

Engaged is not just aligned with AMCI’s strategic plan, it actively advances it. Within the Community Engagement & Development domain, Engaged serves as a cornerstone initiative that strengthens connections across the AMC community while delivering meaningful professional growth.

  • Diverse Content Development Committees
The program is shaped by committees composed of AMC owners, non-executive staff, industry partners, and firms of varying sizes. This deliberate diversity ensures that content reflects the full spectrum of the AMC model and resonates across roles and experience levels.
  • Member-Driven Improvement

Program Highlights: Insight, Strategy, and Action

The Engaged program is built to inspire and to deliver practical value. From keynote presentations that challenge conventional thinking to general sessions that explore industry-wide trends, attendees will gain fresh perspectives on leadership, growth, and innovation.  Concurrent sessions are designed with intention—offering targeted discussions based on AMC size and professional role. This structure allows participants to engage in meaningful, peer-to-peer dialogue with others facing similar challenges.

Expect:

  • Thought-provoking keynote and general sessions
  • Tailored breakout discussions organized by role and firm size
  • Practical strategies that can be implemented immediately
  • Opportunities to engage directly with peers and industry partners

Bring Your Team: Value at Every Level

One of the defining strengths of Engaged is its relevance across all levels of an AMC organization. This is not a meeting designed for just one role—it is built for entire team.  Organizations are increasingly recognizing the value of shared learning experiences, and Engaged delivers:

  • Peer-to-Peer Learning – Engage in candid conversations with colleagues navigating similar opportunities and challenges
  • Tailored Breakout Sessions – Participate in discussions designed specifically for your role and organization size
  • Actionable Takeaways – Return with ideas and strategies ready for immediate implementation
  • High-Value Networking – Build connections with peers, emerging leaders, and industry partners

As one AMC leader noted:
“We find the education provided at Engaged so valuable that we plan to bring 3, 6, 8 team members!”

Celebrating Excellence in the AMC Community

A highlight of the week will be the Awards of Excellence Celebration, taking place on July 28, 2026, at the Baird Center. This event recognizes the outstanding achievements of AMC professionals and firms whose work elevates the industry. It is both a celebration and a reminder of the impact that AMCs have across the organizations they serve.

What’s Next

Engaged is where strategy meets community—where ideas are shared openly, challenges are tackled collaboratively, and the future of the AMC model is shaped together. If you are looking to strengthen your organization, invest in your team, and connect with peers who understand the unique dynamics of association management, AMCs Engaged 2026 is the place to be.

This July, in Milwaukee, we won’t just be talking about the future—we’ll be building it. Registration information can be found here

To keep our momentum strong, the Chair, Board, CEO, and will continue highlighting the Strategic Plan each month. These updates ensure members can see our progress toward 50 by 50, understand how each committee and task force moves the work forward, and identify meaningful ways to engage. By grounding our communications in a shared vision and clear direction, we’re creating a consistent throughline that will guide our collective efforts throughout 2026.
