Beth Klipping Named Executive Director of WIO

Menomonee Falls, WI – Beth Klipping, MBA, has been named the new Executive Director of Women in Ophthalmology (WIO), effective immediately. WIO is managed by Association Acumen, an award-winning accredited association management firm based in Menomonee Falls, WI. Klipping succeeds Sarah Martis, who has been Executive Director since 2009. 

Klipping has worked in academic publishing for the last 8 years and has previously served as executive director for multiple associations, including the Society for Behavioral Medicine. She recently completed her MBA with an emphasis in data analytics at Loras College in Dubuque, IA. 

“I am honored to serve as the Executive Director for WIO,” Klipping said. “The organization has a great track record. It’s been in the forefront of cutting-edge science since its inception and I look forward to helping to continue this tradition.”

“WIO will benefit greatly from Beth’s past experience as an Executive Director. In previous roles, she has expertly directed organizations and facilitated many strategic planning sessions. She’s a proven leader,” Gail Bast, Association Acumen’s President said.

WIO was founded to enhance and improve the professional environment for women ophthalmologists. WIO encourages diversity, impartiality, and economic parity, and strives to cultivate new opportunities for leadership, education, and public service in the field of ophthalmology for current and future generations. WIO has over 400 members and hosts an annual Summer Symposium.
