cademy of Surgeons (ACS) and the Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC).

ACS is a nonprofit organization founded in 1879 by Samuel D. Gross, M.D., the chair of surgery at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. The organization is the oldest continuously meeting surgical society in the United States and predates Gross' founding of the American Surgical Association, which is widely considered to be the nation's most prestigious surgical society.

SBC is an independent, not for profit organization that provides thought leadership and education focused on advancing policies, ideas, and technologies that ensure effective in-building communications capabilities for public safety personnel and the people they serve.
