AMCI Launches New Member Benefit: Accreditation Work Groups

Make your journey to become an accredited Association Management Company a shared experience instead of a solo effort.  Join an Accreditation Work Group!

The AMC Institute Accreditation and Standards Committee (“Committee”) is sponsoring the development of Work Groups comprised of non-accredited companies who share a commitment to attain accreditation and are open to doing that work with others.  We know from experience that companies can realize a more successful and efficient path to accreditation by collaborating with other companies that share that same goal.

Here are some details:

  • Group Design: Each Work Group will consist between 2-4 companies who each commit to assign a member of their senior leadership to be an active member of the group.
  • Meetings Structure:
    • Work Groups will meet monthly at a mutually agreed time.
    • Meetings are facilitated by a rotating roster of executives from an existing accredited firm
    • Work will be organized between Work Group members utilizing a proven process to ensure efficiency
    • Available Expertise:  As needed, the Committee will make available our member consultants, attorneys, mentors, and reviewers (i.e. auditors) to support the Work Group’s efforts
    • Benefits:  Work Group members will:
      • Learn from and share with peers the best of the best practices in the AMC industry
      • Problem solve with other similarly situated companies
      • Work in a safe space that provides comfort to openly share knowing that confidentiality will be preserved
      • Ensure no firm is left behind, as everyone is committed to the successful outcome of all group members becoming accredited.
      • Form bonds with peers who become life-long professional friends
      • Required Commitment: To ensure this is a valuable effort for all in the group, each Work Group member will be requested to pledge:
        • It is an ALL IN on becoming accredited—it is not just looking to test the process
        • It will devote on average two hours a month towards accreditation activities— in collaboration with other Work Group members and for its own dependent work
        • It will attend all Work Group meetings
        • It will meet internally with its own staff between Work Group meetings to perform all the necessary activities for its own accreditation success and to prepare for next group meeting.

If you have any questions or you are an AMC interested in becoming part of a Work Group, please send an email to Alisha White at: [email protected].  We are looking to establish our first set of Work Groups in the fall of 2022.
